La próxima semana, el jueves 21 de marzo, celebraremos una nueva sesión del Seminario Hegel en perspectiva, esta vez con Antonio Sánchez (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) como ponente. Su charla versará sobre «La deconstrucción hegeliana del contractualismo en la Doctrina del Ser de la Ciencia de la Lógica«. Esta vez la sesión dará comienzo a las 18 horas CET y se prolongará hasta las 20 horas.

Hegel prides himself on having found the only method that suits philosophy, the “one and only true method”. Accordingly, everything he calls the philosophical sciences, including the phenomenology of spirit, is supposed to follow it and provide an example of how it works. The method is fundamentally contemplative, it requires no intellectual operation, for it is philosophy’s subject matter itself which “moves forward” and develops by virtue of a “dialectic” inherent in it. The general idea at the basis of this progression is, in Hegel’s words, «the objective character of appearance (Schein)” and “the necessity of contradiction”, namely a contradiction which belongs to the very determinations of the matters with which philosophy is concerned and which does not produce a mere nullification, but a “determined negation”, full of objective significance. This result distinguishes Hegel’s dialectic from all other dialectic: from Plato’s chiefly dissolving dialectic and Kant’s transcendental dialectic (which is ultimately referred to subjectivity) as well as from Adorno’s purely negative variety.
The conference will be devoted to studying, on the one hand, “the necessity of contradiction”, its objectivity, its belonging to all thought and to all that thought thinks, and, on the other hand, its methodological value for philosophy. We would like to continue the debate on the real and descriptive, but also critical character of contradiction, to try to specify to what extent the contradiction that philosophy must, according to Hegel, hold firm to without letting itself be ruled by it, is dissolved or resolved, and to what extent it is rather surpassed and abandoned. We intend to advance the understanding of the logic of contradiction as a philosophical logic and its application to the philosophical conceptualisation of nature and thought/spirit.
Call for contributions
We call for contributions which reflect on the role of dialectic and contradiction in Hegel’s philosophy, both in itself and in dialogue with other philosophies, ancient, early modern or contemporary. We welcome 20-minute talks, in English and German. If you are interested in participating, you are kindly invited to send an abstract of a maximum of 500 words in one of these languages by 30 March to hegelenperspectiva@gmail.com. We will respond to proposals by 7 April.

En nuestro canal de YouTube Hegel en perspectiva, empezamos a publicar todas las intervenciones de las jornadas en torno a libro de José María Ripalda, Filosofía en tiempo de descuento, o de Hegel a la velocidad de la luz, que celebramos el pasado noviembre.
Ya están disponibles las dos primeras intervenciones, a cargo dos miembros de nuestro grupo de investigación: Valerio Rocco y Berta M. Pérez.
En los próximos días publicaremos las intervenciones restantes.
El próximo jueves 22 de febrero retomamos las sesiones ordinarias de nuestro Seminario Hegel en perspectiva, esta vez con Ricard Sapena como ponente invitado. Su ponencia tendrá por título: «La exposición de Dios antes de la creación del mundo. Acerca de la problemática relación entre lógica y metafísica».
Como viene siendo habitual, la sesión se desarrollará en línea y empezará a las 17 horas (CET). Los interesados pueden solicitar el enlace de acceso escribiendo a Christian López (chlopezmas@gmail.com).
Los próximos 23 y 24 de noviembre, en la Facultad de Filosofía y Ciencias de la Educación de la Universitat de València, somos anfitriones de unas jornadas sobre Filosofía en tiempo de descuento, o de Hegel a la velocidad de la luz (Siglo XXI, 2022), de José María Ripalda. Intervendrán varios miembros de nuestro grupo de investigación: Valerio Rocco, Edgar Maraguat, Clara Ramas y Berta M. Pérez, y también German Cano (UCM), Luis Arenas (UVEG), Laura Llevadot (UB) y Andrea Montero (UVEG). José María Ripalda responderá/reaccionará a los comentarios y preguntas que provocará su libro.
La entrada es libre hasta completar aforo. Las intervenciones se organizarán en tres mesas, dos en el Salón de Grados el jueves, mañana y tarde, y una en la Sala de Juntas el viernes, sólo por la mañana.

El próximo jueves, 26 de octubre, continúa tanto nuestro seminario de lectura como el seminario Hegel en perspectiva.
Las sesiones del seminario de lectura sobre La ciencia de la lógica serán este año los jueves, cada dos semanas, a las 12 del mediodía. Nos seguiremos reuniendo en la sala 509 de la Facultad de Filosofía y la coordinación correrá de nuevo a cargo de Miguel Gramage. Este curso estaremos leyendo la Doctrina de la esencia (de 1813) de principio a fin, en la traducción de Félix Duque.
El propio 26 de octubre, pero por zoom y a las 17 horas, tendremos también una nueva sesión en línea del Seminario Hegel en perspectiva. El ponente invitado será esta vez Christian López, doctor por la Universitat de València. Hablará de «Infinito y tránsito en la Ciencia de la lógica».
La semana que viene, el jueves 28 de septiembre a la hora habitual, las cinco de la tarde en España, retomaremos las sesiones de nuestro seminario de investigación permanente. En esta ocasión actuará como ponente invitado un miembro de nuestro grupo, Rafael Aragüés, actualmente profesor en la Universidad de Valladolid.
El tema de la sesión será «La cuestión de la realidad en el idealismo de Hegel».

El próximo 22 de junio, jueves, a las 5 de la tarde, hora española, celebraremos la quinta sesión de la 10ª edición de nuestro seminario de investigación. Será la última del curso (¡que no del año!). La siguiente será ya en septiembre.
La ponencia correrá a cargo de Pablo Pulgar Moya (Universidad Diego Portales de Chile) y su tema será “La expansión lógica de la naturaleza en Hegel”. Como siempre, habrá un coloquio a continuación.
